Owl Preschool is quickly emerging as one of Hualien's premier English language preschools. The school opened in the summer of 2002 and is nestled among green mountains and rich farmland on the outskirts of town.

Every term, the school hires two native English teachers to lead the English classes at the school. The English teachers are provided with free housing right above the school and have access to a resource center with a library, learning aids, and toys to help teach their happy and excited students. 

 

The school has three classrooms located in two adjacent buildings. The school courtyard contains playground equipment with grass and cement play areas and is beautifully landscaped and maintained.

Classes begin at 9:00 a.m. The students rotate between English and Chinese classes every thirty minutes. Classes break for lunch and a nap between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. The last class of the day is from 3-4:30 p.m. Our wonderful Chinese teachers will assist our English teachers as needed.

Students range in age from 3 to 6 years old and come from families where learning English is important. The student's parents often speak English and many have visited or studied in the United States or England. The students are bright, learn quickly, and don't need to hear Chinese in order to communicate.
